A Model for Getting Acquainted with Fiction to Enrich the Image of the World in the Preschool Age

Inese Freiberga
Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy, Riga, Latvia

Summary

Introduction
The progress of information and telecommunication technologies granting us the access to information and ensuring its broad scope also provides an opportunity for a child in its senior preschool age to access information of most various  types. Often the child is left alone amidst the manifold and frequently conflicting pieces of information. More and more time is spent by the TV without any control over the data perceived from the screen. The information received from the TV strongly influences the child’s notions of the surrounding world and its values orientation, thus the image of the world. Fiction being a type of art gives us an opportunity to gain such experience that a child is unable to get under the given circumstances in his everyday life; therefore the child’s experience is deepened and the formation of the values orientation is encouraged as well as the enrichment of the image of the world is being influenced as early as in the preschool age.

Aim of the study
Elaboration of a theoretical pedagogical model for the formation of the image of the world throughout the process of perceiving and experiencing fiction in the senior preschool age. Lasīt vairāk "A Model for Getting Acquainted with Fiction to Enrich the Image of the World in the Preschool Age"

Grammar Errors in Acquiring Russian As a First and a Second Language

Stella N. Ceytlin
Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, St. Petersburg, Russia

Summary

Introduction
It is intriguing how young children acquiring their native language can often master things that are beyond the power of people learning the very same language as adults.

Thus, for instance, it is usually quite difficult for learners of Russian as a second language to master the cases of nouns or aspects of the verb. Yet Russian babies acquire those categories with no special trouble. I select these categories, the noun cases and verbal aspects, as mastered by Russian babies and foreign speakers, for the purposes of this presentation. By analyzing the errors made by these groups of learners I intend to get to their cause and to see if the strategies of mastering Russian morphology are the same in acquiring Russian as the native language or as the second language.

Aim of the study – to compare grammar errors in the speech of children acquiring Russian as the first language and in the speech of Azerbaijani speakers acquiring Russian as the second language. Lasīt vairāk "Grammar Errors in Acquiring Russian As a First and a Second Language"

Children`s Language Improvement Possibilities

Viktorija Kuzina
Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy, Child Language Research Center, Latvia

 Abstract

Development and improvement of children’s language generally takes place on three levels: the first level – parents, the influence of language in the family, the second level – the influence of language at school (pre-school and primary school), and the third level – the influence of language in the environment (the yard, the street or the local area). A child exists in a world full of words. It intuitively more or less understands and applies the most frequently heard words and expressions in the everyday speech. A child’s language is largely influenced by the family, teachers, as well as friends and other people that are considered by the child to be its authority. All of these sources play a certain role in the processes of language acquisition and development of speech culture. Lasīt vairāk "Children`s Language Improvement Possibilities"

Zenta Anspoka
Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy, Latvia

Abstract

Whilst living in today’s contemporary and diverse environment of visual information, people draw too little attention to verbal information, textual perception, listening, reading and writing. However, language is not only a means of communication. Language is also a means of acknowledging human thinking, self-affirmation and ethnicity. Since the main goal of education is to raise a creative personality, the mutual relationship between language and speech becomes the most important means to this end. Individuals`s Resistance to Social Crises is a Acquired in Childhood

Sigita Burvytė
Lithuanian University of Education, Lithuania

Abstract

Objective: the development of person’s resistance to crises. The aim of the study is to reveal the importance of childhood experience to the person, by acquiring resistance to crises; the need of pedagogical help in overcoming  daptation difficulties of the first-year pupil at school. The analysis of pedagogical, psychological, philosophical literature; the analysis of empirical research and statistic data; as well as the method of observation were used in the current study. Though 60 percent of preparation possibilities for life are realised until the beginning of the first grade, the analysis of various authors’ research, quantitative analysis and observation of firstyear pupils in the schools of Vilnius, allow us to conclude that the main reason for a difficult adaptation of first-year pupils is the prevailing belief, that individuals’ preparation for life begins at school. Educational system is based on rendering of the knowledge rather than the development of thinking ability and universal recognition of the environment. Inactivated brain during infancy and early childhood reduces the possibility of mastering information provided at school, and using it in life. Family is the basis, which provides the feeling of safety, which instils real values, which creates the conditions of developing resistance to social changes, and various adaptational skills, which are particularly necessary in the contemporary changing society. Extra attention should be paid to the education of parents and preparation for responsible parenthood. Lasīt vairāk "Individuals`s Resistance to Social Crises is a Acquired in Childhood"

Socio-pedagogical Problems of Modern Students’ Attitude Towards School

Ausma Špona
Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy, Latvia

Introduction

One of society’s quality development conditions is a good school. The good school involves a positive sense of self, students’ joy to learn and teachers’ wish to work in a creative manner, parents readiness arrive at the school. Human-pedagogical school theory (Gudjons, 2007) sees the school as an influential factor in the mutual relation of social culture, social economy and politics. It is impossible to define the school in the modern trendy society only on the basis of learning process because it is closely followed “by upbringing (as development of personality), compensation (as equalization of social behaviour deficit) and security function” (Gudjons, 2007).

Aim of the Study

To analyse the socio-pedagogical problems and causes of students’ attitude towards school Lasīt vairāk "Socio-pedagogical Problems of Modern Students’ Attitude Towards School"
